my little library

just because cats can't read doesn't mean they don't enjoy a good book. i enjoy being read aloud to, chewing the edge of a good book, and sniffing library books (library books get around.) Most cats are homebodies who have their own home libraries.

Cats around here love to leave little tooth marks at the edges of books, especially reference ones like The Chicago 15. Eddy, you are so dapper.

Hi Eddie! You make a wonderful bookend! Our house is full of books, there's no room on any shelf for us to sit *grumble grumble*.

Cats have a way of getting in the most unusual and tiny places. Mine makes a bed of books often.

Such a handsome bookend, Eddy!!! Jacob and Phoebe love to chew the corners of E's books, then act like they didn't do a thing!

Eddy, those books look really "good on you" as the saying goes. They really bring out the richness of your coat, which is another thing books can do for non-readers.

A book on a lap is a perfect place to snooze...

Eddy you look like a very well read puss. And I see you have an eye for the classics!

Too cute! One of the book stores I used to frequent had a couple of cats inside. But they were more interested in the mice, than books. Although you had to clean the sheddings off most of them( the books ), ere you took 'em home.

Personally Eddie, I think cats can read. Like toys - they really do come alive. It's a secret world that grown up humans no nothing of. I know that when I read aloud, my cats come arunnin' and then sit on my legs, drinking in every word.

You know, not all cats are homebodies--there's a book out called DEWEY abut a cat who lived in a library al his life, after being put in the book deposit box as a tiny kitten.

Looks like a good spot you got there, Ed.

Edward, I just realized what your eyes remind me of.

You have the eyes of a lemur.

I'll post a photo so you can see what I'm talking about.

Totally, dude. You have lemur eyes.

Thanks for mentioning the book about Dewey. I'd forgotten I wanted to read that book.

Dewey's story reminded me of a huge fluffy cat that was the meeter and greeter at my local humane society for years. He greeted all the animals and people that came through the door. He lived a long, good life and really seemed to enjoy that job of meeting and greeting.

I wish my library had a library cat.

If yopu can write (and you certainly do) you can read.
