(you've seen them-- they're all twitchy and weird.) Of course i can't avoid the news, and try to stay informed and all, but i don't see the point of getting all twitchy about it.

i tried to keep my balloon away from Dennis. Me and Bobby D. Chedwick played with it whenever Dennis was napping.

but then Dennis seen me play with it a few times, so we was more careful -- but Dennis watched and punctured it the first chance he got. it was the fifth balloon i got and the fifth one Dennis broke. i got no picture of Dennis with my balloon but i know he done it.

over the holidays the people and cats around me realized i was just a sweet little clueless kitten in a big body. Dennis stalks off when i challenge him to a wrestle because he knows i still have the never give up kitten mentality. Bobby D. is sad that i have taken all his old toys and in my mine mine mine kitten way, refuse to share them. i took his beloved feather sticks ~ broke one of them, and will not share the one seen in this photo. i like to tease him by dragging it around the house and even grooming the feather part.

Bob has already gotten into the tree and climbed up the trunk a few times. i saw that's how it was supposed to be, so i tried but the tree has poking needles and i give up.

if i had a million dollars i'd have six of these cat towers, a human to bring food to me so i don't have to eat in the kitchen, and a lot more cat toys and a big sun porch addition with more cat towers and beds and overstuffed fluffy chairs and a big screen hi def tv with non stop films of nice birds ( not Hitchcock) and a big aquarium full of fish and lots of sofas and carpets and catnip plants and those glass prism things hanging around sparkling lights on the wall--i'd want a bunch of those and every so often a small mouse would run through the room... or a centipede. and my veterinarian would always make house calls--he'd be on my turf and just check in on me every week! yeah i wish i had a million dollars! or maybe three million dollars! what would you cats do with a million or so dollars?

much to the dismay of my brother Bobby D. Chedwick, (turning to look at me in this photo) i have grown to be his size now. i have always loved wrestling with him and he always gave in, even when i was small because i am feisty and he is very very mellow. he has to be careful, and watch his back, because i love to pounce on him when he least expects it. he will not grow any bigger but i will, and he will be the little guy again. will i ever stop pouncing on him? it's such great fun i wonder why he dislikes it so much. he might be way too mellow.

i survived my operation! it was a harrowing experience, but the pretty nurses at the cat hospital were very sweet and loving.

when i recovered, i sent text messages out to Dennis and Chedwick to let them know i was okay.

when i got home they rushed to the cat carrier and were nice to me. Dennis got in the carrier right away, so he could pretend he was going to the cat hospital. then we all had a nice luncheon.

it is good to be back home.

today i have been with my family for ninety days and am no longer a tiny kitten. i am cannot avoid the dreaded "surgical procedure." you may recall that i do not much care for going to the

i've been going through this annoying phase. no one can groom me or get a good photograph of me. i run at full speed and jump onto humans and cats. Ched has given up, but Dennis is still trying to groom me.

another milestone

after trying many times and failing many times, i finally jumped up on top of the refrigerator today. i enjoyed the view and then cried for someone to help me down. before anyone could help, i decided to just go for it and got down all by myself.

i feel a great sense of achievement.

as you can see i am growing like a weed in just two and a half months. i'm nearly as big as Chedwick and Doctor Kasman says i'm going to grow at least as large as Dennis. maybe bigger, who knows?

things that have changed: i can finally jump up on the counter top (sometimes i still crash and fall, but i'm getting better at it.) and i know my name is eddy. (i learned it in august.) i bite quite a bit less than i used to, too.

things that have not changed: i am still as loving as ever, love all humans and enjoy a good long snuggle & still love to wrestle big cats. i still run to the door to see who it is. i still cry when i want food. i still play with the remote control a lot and turn the TV off and on and change channels. i still like popcorn.

Chedwick likes to sit on top of the cat carrier, and i love to start wrestling, so this is what happens 25 times a day. Chedwick is very patient.

a lot of people think Chedwick and Dennis fight with me, but it's only play-fighting or them just fed up with me doing things like what is shown in this movie all day long. at night we cuddle up and basically sleep in a pile. we all groom each other everyday.

first i grab Dennis' head, and then i kick his head with my feet. it's brilliant until he does exactly the same thing to me, then i have to come up with a new strategy. (like getting away and leaving the room for awhile.)

remember my balloon? my balloon was destroyed by Dennis. (long story, i cried, i don't want to write about it.) i helped my mom tidy some drawers and played very nicely with Chedwick. ignored Dennis.

earlier, someone suggested this as a fun thing for cats (i think it was Lori in Texas) anyway, i got one the other day and it really is super fun!!!! i have been playing with it non-stop. i love to pull it all around the house and the humans say things like aww, look at him run with his balloon and he looks so happy.

i grab the ribbon and run like crazy through the house. the other cats just stare at me.

sad sometimes

i'm sad for two reasons today. Mercurie's cat Precious has passed away (see her story here.)

and...

my friend Jack, who is a neighbor's cat, is very sick and old. Jack has been through so much at the cat hospital this last year or two. he's skin and bones but still very loving and cheerful. because he is so weak, and in pain, his vet may be making a house call soon. Jack is and always was a people cat. very friendly.

so you see i am sad today. but it's okay to feel this way sometimes.

sigh... i have to wait around for computer time now that my humans are away from the house a lot more.

these days are gone forever, since i have gotten bigger. i now weigh 4 pounds.

i still jump on Chedwick and Dennis but they are less and less interested in wrestling with me.

they see me coming and run and hide. can you see the desperation in Chedwick's eyes? too many wrestling matches is why he looks like that. still i can't stop myself.

oh i look calm in this picture but this is after i shrieked and howled and hissed and growled and struggled and bit and clawed and threw up (twice) and foamed at the mouth, and then pooed. i hope i do better next time, but i don't have a lot of confidence that i will. The doctor and nurse just laughed because believe it or not, they have seen cats who act much worse!

Tut Tut mentioned that it looked like i was growing. since Tut Tut has seen me live and in person, i have to say, she is right! we used the highly scientific colander measurement data test to see how much i have grown. today i occupy 43.7% more of the space inside the colander than i did when Tut Tut was visiting. (it appears to be more only because the second photo is more of a close-up and is taken from a different angle.)

Wine Cork Hockey

Developed by Dennis in the year 2000 after a visit to Napa Valley, wine cork hockey is played in any bathtub rink and points are scored when the wine cork hits the drain plate when hit from the backrest of the rink. Eddy was introduced to the sport yesterday, and is already a keen player.

Chedwick is my best friend because he always plays with me when i ask him, he is never mean to me, and he looks for me if i wander off. he worries about me when i sneeze, he stops Dennis from getting too rough, and he grooms me and shares his treats. he also makes an excellent pillow to nap on.

i love plain old air popped popcorn! i get excited when i hear the very noisy popper & let's get one thing straight-- it's all mine.

i was a little upset

this hand does not taste like the hand i usually chew on. one of my human's went away for two whole days. i was kept busy playing with Ched, but i missed biting the hand which normally feeds me.

another very lovable human took care of us, but i missed my human because i like sleeping on her at night and biting her and poking her eyes to wake her up. i looked all over the house for her, because i thought she might be hiding from me.

Chedwick and i continue to play our game. here i am in my boat about to sail away. Chedwick wants to come along, but i say, maybe next time.

actually i could have used a first mate after all, since i hit very rough seas and found it hard to steer the boat. good thing it is full of books, or it might have capsized.

here i am putting provisions in the boat for my next voyage. (mostly toy mousies.)

there is a secret entrance to eddyland hidden in a sofa cushion.

this one is fun. a person is in the box and defends it against intruders. there is a face off, and a slap fight (the defender slaps to keep the box, the intruder slaps and tries to push his way in.)

once the intruder is in the box, he has to get low and bite the feet of the defender however many times it takes until the defender gives up and leaps out of the box. i won this game a lot because i'm quick and a good feet biter. Ched is too gentle and not a biter. still he was a good sport. Dennis also played, but did not like me biting his feet, so he quit after only two rounds. i made Ched play for hours.

this game started out as me running at Ched at top speed, forcing him to step aside. then he changed the game by not stepping aside and instead taking one bold step forward at the crucial moment. now this is called the wall. i like contact sports and wrestling a lot.
